Imbolc is an ancient celebration observed Feb. 2nd. In Ireland it is known as Saint Brigid's Day, the patroness of midwives, blacksmith's, poets, childbirth, and the hearth, just to name a few. Traditionally celebrated half way between Yule and the spring equinox, it encouraged our ancestors that spring was near and the long, difficult winter season was on the wane. It is a day to bless the seeds for the coming planting season and thank the deities for their blessings.
