Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Flint

On February 6 at 3pm to 6pm
Repeats? - - No

On February 6, 2016, please join us as we mark the turning of the wheel with a public Imbolc ritual encouraging the return of the sun; hold sacred space for those who choose to brave the Rites of Passage Re/Dedication (see below for more information on participating and RSVP details); followed by a potluck and fellowship.

For more info about Imbolc, please visit-

To understand what a re/dedication rite of passage is, we must first understand what dedication is.Merriam-Webster defines dedication as “1.an act or rite of dedicating to a divine being or a sacred use, 2.a devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose…4.Self-sacrificing devotion, 5.a ceremony to mark the official completion or opening of something.

There are many reasons that one might wish to participate in the Re/Dedication rites, and following is a non-exhaustive list of the reasons that may speak to you personally about participating as a dedicant:

A great opportunity to reaffirm those recently made New Year's resolutions
Self improvement and education
Health and fitness
Sustainable living
Spiritual path and religious objectives
Relationships
Career
Community and volunteerism
Childbirth and other new family additions
Overcoming addictions or less than desirable habits

For more information, or to RSVP as a dedicant in the re/dedication rites of passage, please contact Jack Mercer via phone at 810-919-0582, or via email at moc.liamg|recremjver#moc.liamg|recremjver.

There is no need to RSVP for the open Imbolc ritual, but we do ask that you RSVP if you plan to participate in the re/dedication rites so that we may plan accordingly. We are looking very forward to sharing sacred space with you!
